La fourrure épaisse le protège du froid glacial et est si belle que beaucoup d'entre eux sont victimes du braconnage. C'est la raison pour laquelle le léopard des neiges est désormais une espèce en voie de disparition. Comme le léopard des neiges de Schleich® Wild Life, il se distingue par sa queue, qui est presque aussi longue que son corps.
