Itinerary

• IMPORTANT: You are of course free to book only individual chargeable services listed below and/or explore the destinations on your own (15% advance booking discount).
• Day 1: Swiss boarding point > Passau
  Arrival at the port. The Excellence crew welcomes you with a welcome aperitif. At 5pm, your Excellence river cruise ship departs. You dine with a view of the river. A delicious Excellence-style menu is prepared for you. Whatever you need during the journey – one word is enough.
• Day 2: Regensburg
  • Guided walk through the historic city of Regensburg. The old town with Stadamhof is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Alternatively: excursion to Weltenburg to the spectacular Danube Gorge, a 5.5km long narrow passage in the Danube valley. Rock faces up to 80m high line the banks of the gorge. The culinary dinner opening at the castle sets the mood for the festival evening. A first-class summer music night with tenor Jonathan Tetelman in the courtyard of Thurn & Taxis Castle awaits you.

  • Walk through the city of three rivers, through narrow alleys and wide squares with Italian baroque flair, with stories and tales about the people who lived and still live here. Alternatively, cross the river for a tour to Veste Oberhaus. You enjoy views of 800 years of castle history as well as the old town and the Dreiflüsseeck.

• Day 4: Vienna
  • Imperial flair in the Schönbrunn Palace gardens with views over Vienna and visit to the Imperial Carriage Museum. Evening walk through the old town with a stop for a drink at Lounge 57 in the DC Tower, Austria's tallest skyscraper.

• Day 5: Vienna > Dürnstein
  • Just outside Vienna lies Klosterneuburg. You explore the abbey's art treasures and the secrets of the Augustinian canons. This is followed by a drive to Kahlenberg in Wien-Döbling. In good weather, you can see as far as the Little Carpathians. Evening walk in Dürnstein. Exclusively for Excellence guests, the abbey opens its doors. You can taste apricot spirits and Wachau wines.

• Day 6: Linz
  • Where the Danube bends and changes its course lies Linz. The city itself also made the transition from steel centre to innovative cultural city. Guided walk and time for your own discoveries. The cultural promenade is located directly on the Danube riverbank. Alternatively: City Art Walk – a walk with wow factor to remarkable public art.
