Day pass to Overground Basel – the largest trend sports hall in Europe
Ninja
- Ninja Warrior is a top-level obstacle course that combines skill, strength and endurance
- The concept originates from the long-running Japanese programme Sasuke and enjoyed great success on television in the USA as Ninja Warrior
- In 11 seasons, only 2 athletes have managed to win the prize money of 1 million dollars
- This testifies to the high level of difficulty of the obstacle courses, which become more challenging from year to year
- Many countries have now bought the licence for the TV show, including Germany, France and Switzerland
- The show consists of 4 rounds: A preliminary round with 6 different obstacles, a semi-final qualifying round with 5 obstacles, the semi-final with 9 obstacles and the final
- In the final show, the athletes face 4 different courses (also known as stages)
- In the first they have to overcome 9 obstacles, in the second 5 and in the third 4
- The 4th stage consists of a 20 metre long rope, Mount Midoriama, which has to be climbed in 30 seconds
Trampoline
- A long airtime, i.e. time in the air, helps when practising tricks
- This time allows you to concentrate on the movements of the somersaults and twists
- Practising with professional trampolines is perfect for long airtime
- Big Bounce is a TV show from RTL
- The participants complete a course with all kinds of obstacles connected to trampolines in the shortest possible time
- This requires and promotes coordination and balance
- The time pressure spurs them on and gives the whole thing an agonal component
Chase Tag
- Chase Tag is a game of tag for grown-ups
- Poles and walls are placed as obstacles on a 12 x 12 metre playing field
- The game is played in teams of 5 people; however, only 2 people per chase' face each other on the field
- The catcher tries to catch the hunted (evader) for 20 seconds
- If the evader manages to escape, his team receives one point
- The winner of the round (chaser or evader) remains in the field and gets a new opponent
- The 1st team with 16 points wins
Parkour
- Le Parkour was invented by the Frenchman David Belle
- He developed it from the «méthode naturelle», a method that is still used today as training for the French military and is similar to the Vita Parcours in this country
- Parkour is a form of locomotion in mostly urban spaces
- Architectural and spatial elements such as walls, railings, walls, steps, subways, poles or kerbstones are assigned completely new meanings
- The traceur chooses the most efficient and direct route possible through the obstacles of a city
- Railings are overcome effortlessly, walls are overrun in seconds and subway steps are jumped over
- The young sport has evolved over the last 15 years
- While efficiency and speed took centre stage in the beginning («the fastest way from A to B»), today it is more about creatively engaging with the (urban) environment
- Saltos and artistic spins have also been added
- Today, it's about finding your own way and having a lot of fun doing sporting activities in the process
- Strength, agility, balance, precision and endurance, a precise perception of your own body and its abilities, creative interaction with a mostly urban environment and constantly overcoming boundaries: That's parkour!
