Judas Priest – Heavy Metal at its Finest from the «High Priests of Heavy Metal»
Judas Priest were founded in 1969 in Birmingham, England and had a lasting impact on the metal world. With founding members Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, K.K. Downing and Ian Hill, they formed the heart of a band that revolutionised heavy metal. After their first albums, they found their characteristic style in 1976 with «Sad Wings of Destiny», which quickly gave them a special position in hard rock. This was followed by a series of groundbreaking albums such as «Sin After Sin», «Stained Class» and «Hell Bent for Leather» as well as the thrilling live album «Unleashed in the East», which produced immortal metal classics such as «Sinner», «Diamonds and Rust» and «Hell Bent for Leather». In the 1980s, Judas Priest finally rose to legendary status and, with albums such as «British Steel», «Screaming for Vengeance» and «Defenders of the Faith», created a series of songs that became the essence of heavy metal - including immortal anthems such as «Breaking the Law» and «You've Got Another Thing Coming». This decade was a string of triumphs that definitively cemented them as global icons of the genre. Their influence has stood the test of time and despite numerous line-up changes and stylistic developments, Judas Priest have remained at the forefront of metal. With the hard-hitting «Painkiller», they set new standards and in the 2010s, they once again proved their power with «Redeemer of Souls» and «Firepower». In 2022, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honoured band members Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, Ian Hill and Scott Travis with their induction into the Hall of Fame. Their 19th (!) studio album «Invincible Shield» was released in 2024.
