PANIER DES SENS celebrates Grasse perfumery and its traditional know-how, with a new collection based on perfume absolutes.
- A veritable jewel of high-end perfumery, an absolute is the most precious oil of the plant raw material. Absolutes are highly concentrated, fragrant natural plant extracts, produced by the extractive action of an organic solvent on a plant. Extraction begins with maceration of the plant, to obtain what is known as a concrete. This solid concrete is then melted, dissolved in alcohol, to remove insoluble waxes, while preserving pigments and essences. The final step is to separate the alcohol from the scented substance: the result is an absolute, a dense, precious and highly concentrated liquid.
