Teak wood, known for its exceptional durability and beauty, undergoes a lengthy maturing and drying process before it is used for furniture production. The maturing process of teak wood in nature takes up to 50 years until the tree has reached its full size and can be felled for timber production. Teak is known for its outstanding quality and durability and is often classified into different grades that determine its appearance, structure and longevity. The classification into grades A, B and C helps to understand the diversity of teak and to make the right choice for specific needs and applications. This article is made from Grade B teak.
  • Grade B teak comes from the outer heartwood. It contains significantly more oils and resins and has a much darker color than Grade C. Grade B teak is of very good quality, has a much longer lifespan than Grade C and is also suitable for wet rooms (bathrooms). Slight irregularities in color and texture result in a particularly interesting design. Grade C teak, on the other hand, comes from the outermost part of the tree, the sapwood. This wood has a lower density, is lighter in color and contains hardly any natural oils.
  • The water-based surface treatment is an environmentally friendly process in which protective and care substances dissolved in aqueous solutions are applied to the wood. This treatment serves to protect the teak from external influences such as moisture, UV radiation and temperature fluctuations without impairing the natural look and feel of the wood.
