- The Milalao scented candle is surrounded by hand-crocheted raffia from our women's cooperative in Madagascar. The bayadère stripe pattern, a mix of lemon yellow and acid green on a natural background, is reminiscent of the deckchairs on the beaches of the Côte d'Azur. A yellow-embroidered transverse ruffle gives this scented candle the status of a true decorative object inspired by the world of fashion.
- Olfactory notes:
- The aromatic scent, with notes of mint, vetiver and Ylang-ylang, is in perfect harmony with the colors of the raffia.
- Raphia is a plant and endemic species harvested every year. The leaves are dried, then cut into long strips for dyeing and crocheting. Our women's cooperative in Madagascar has been making our Raphia candles for 8 years, under the impetus of our creative direction. The motifs are first designed and then produced by the crocheters in Madagascar. This annual project enables women to make a decent living and send their children to school.
- The quality of our scented candles requires a specific burning ritual. For each burn, it's important to wait until the entire surface has liquefied before extinguishing the candle. This will prevent the formation of craters, which are unsightly and make burning more difficult. The first burn of your candle will always take longer than subsequent burns. Allow time for the first layer of wax to liquefy completely. The duration of this stage varies according to the size of the candle.
- Also be careful not to burn the last 2 cm of wax, as a flame burning against the glass can cause it to shatter. We also advise against throwing used matches into the wax.
