Road homologation Switzerland

The regulations valid as of June 1, 2015 classify gyropod-type vehicles and electric scooters as subcategories of mopeds and now completely assimilate them to light motor vehicles (up to 20 km/h) in the traffic rules.

These vehicles do not need to be registered and insured separately. They can be driven from the age of 14 by holders of a motorcycle driving license and from the age of 16 by those without a license. They are approved for use on both bike paths and roads.
