Laurent Perrier

Since 1968, Laurent-Perrier has mastered a very special and rare skill in Champagne: maceration. Cuvée Rosé offers the richest and most subtle expression of Pinot Noir. This rosé champagne is characterised by its intense aromas of fresh red fruit, great intensity and freshness.

Features

The estate

Founded in 1812, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne House enjoyed its golden age from 1948 onwards, thanks to the dynamism of Bernard de Nonancourt. Under the impetus of this visionary businessman, the house distinguished itself by producing cuvées that reflected its values of excellence and innovation. From the outset, the house has built its identity around Chardonnay. With the freshness and finesse it brings to the blend, this grape variety is the hallmark of this Champagne benchmark. Laurent-Perrier's avant-garde approach is reflected in its Grand Siècle with its multi-millilitre blends, its Ultra Brut with its ‘zero dosage' style, and Cuvée Rosé, the first rosé champagne made from maceration in this category. Each of these ‘breakthrough' cuvées is an event in itself, and their originality marks a new page in the history of Laurent Perrier and its quest for excellence, for which it is internationally renowned. The values cherished by Bernard de Nonancourt find their quintessence in Laurent-Perrier cuvées, unanimously recognised by connoisseurs.

The vineyard

Located in the picturesque village of Tours-sur-Marnes, Laurent-Perrier has its own high-quality vineyards, complemented by long-term supply agreements with growers in the finest terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs.

The wine

In 1968, Paris was abuzz with excitement and Laurent-Perrier threw a spanner in the works by launching a wine as surprising as it was creative: Cuvée Rosé in its escutcheon bottle. Remember, more than 50 years ago, rosé champagne was not in vogue... Thanks to an uncommon spirit of innovation, Bernard de Nonancourt paved the way for a new generation of champagnes and gave its letters of nobility to the category of rosé champagnes, by choosing a completely new wine, rosé de macération.

Blending

The grapes from the selected plots are sorted and destemmed before being put into vats. Maceration lasts between 48 and 72 hours following the harvest, producing an unrivalled aromatic bouquet that reveals all the richness of the best Pinot Noir vintages.
