Description
- La Grande Année Rosé embodies Bollinger's unique style and mastery in the art of crafting rosé champagne. It is a powerful champagne of great complexity. Each vintage is a special occasion and ranks among the finest champagnes.
- The 2012 vintage is generous and full-bodied, with a lovely liveliness. To create La Grande Année Rosé 2012, Bollinger's cellar master blended 67% Pinot Noir and 33% Chardonnay. The grapes come from some twenty villages in Champagne, primarily Aÿ and Verzenay for the Pinot Noir and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oiry for the Chardonnay. To this blend is added 5% red wine from the famous La Côte aux Enfants vineyard.
- True to Bollinger's unique winemaking method, the 2012 La Grande Année Rosé is vinified and aged entirely in oak barrels.
- The wines mature under cork for nearly 7 years. In a practice now rare in Champagne, each bottle is riddled and disgorged by hand.
- La Grande Année Rosé 2012 is a Brut champagne, with a dosage of 8g per liter.
- This cuvée boasts an elegant color with rosy highlights. Its bubbles are exceptionally fine.
- On the nose, La Grande Année Rosé 2012 reveals lovely notes of red currant, black fruits, and citrus.
- On the palate, it is a rich champagne, characterized by lovely freshness and a creamy texture.
- Bollinger's La Grande Année 2012 Rosé is a true gourmet champagne that pairs beautifully with duck breast, quail, guinea fowl, or Middle Eastern cuisine.
