- The winery: Between the sea and the mountains, on the route between Perpignan and the Mediterranean coast, Domaine Lafage is based in an old stone country house dating back to the 15th century. After six generations of winemakers, the experienced oenologist couple Jean-Marc and Éliane Lafage now run the winery, whose cellar has been completely rebuilt and is perfectly equipped with the latest international technology. The vines thrive on a diverse, varied terroir, and the Lafages process them together with a motivated team of highly qualified employees into modern, trendy wines.
- The character: This red wine has a bright red color with light shades. Balanced on the nose, with aromas of red fruit. Juicy and fruity on the palate, with a pleasant freshness. Ideal with tapas or a summer barbecue.
- Region: In the south of France, geographically adjacent to the Rhône Valley, the country's largest wine region, the Languedoc, nestles against the Mediterranean coastline with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses. The climate is characterized by plenty of sunshine, mild winters and hot summers. The vines that thrive here - mostly on limestone soils - are strong and vigorous due to the dryness of the region. In addition to viticulture, the cultivation of olives, which also thrive without artificial irrigation, dominates agriculture here. Languedoc is an exceptionally colorful region: the Mediterranean flair can be felt everywhere: In the typical earthenware, the airy fabrics and in the light, tasty dishes.
