Description
Description: Miraflors Rosé Côtes Catalanes IGP
The Estate:
Domaine Lafage is located between the sea and the mountains, in a 15th-century stone country house on the road connecting Perpignan to the Mediterranean coast. After six generations of winemakers, Jean-Marc and Éliane Lafage—both oenologists—now run Domaine Lafage, whose winery has been completely rebuilt and equipped according to the latest international standards. The vines grow on a rich and diverse terroir that the Lafages, assisted by a motivated team of highly qualified staff, transform into modern, contemporary wines.
The Region:
It is the country's largest wine-growing region. Located in southern France and geographically linked to the Rhône Valley, the Languedoc, with its vineyards and picturesque old stone houses, hugs the Mediterranean coastline. The climate is very sunny, with mild winters and hot summers. The vines that grow here—primarily on limestone soils—are strong and vigorous due to the region's aridity. Alongside viticulture, olive cultivation dominates the landscape, with olive trees also growing without artificial irrigation. Languedoc is a vibrant region. The Mediterranean flair is evident everywhere: in the traditional pottery, the light fabrics, and the light yet flavorful dishes.
Tasting Notes:
This fresh, light, and fruity wine has a beautiful salmon-pink color. On the nose, it reveals subtle aromas of apple, citrus, and pineapple, as well as hints of rose, strawberry, and raspberry. On the palate, it is fresh, harmonious, quite supple, and round. Some mineral notes complement the fruity notes in the finish.
