- Vinification: The name Roncaia is derived from the vineyard of the same name. 100% Merlot from the vineyards of the municipalities of Castel San Pietro and Stabio. Classically vinified in 5000-liter wooden vats. Subsequent ageing for 16 months in barriques.
- Culinary recommendation: Wonderful with beef - from steaks and stroganoff to tartare or slow-cooked roasts from the oven.
- Aroma & flavor: Vivid ruby red with violet reflections when young. On the nose, fruity and sweet notes of ripe black cherries, blackberries and blueberries. Then grassy notes of dried hay and spicy notes of cloves and pepper, a hint of tobacco and vanilla. Black pepper and licorice on the long finish. Extremely soft tannin. Its softness is the main distinguishing feature of Roncaia.
