- Vinification: The grapes for the Bordeaux cuvée come from carefully selected vineyards in Locarno and the Sottoceneri, whose sandy and loamy soils give the wine its characteristic depth and structure. With a planting density of 4,500 to 5,000 vines per hectare and a yield of 800 g per square meter, the vines are cultivated according to the Guyot and spurred cordon training systems.
- Culinary recommendation: Melodia harmonizes perfectly with alpine cow and goat cheese from the Maggia Valley, semi-soft and semi-matured cheeses, corn burritos with meat, beans and vegetables, lightly seasoned goulash, risotto Loto Terreni alla Maggia with Parmesan and black summer truffle as well as rich soups and meat stews.
- Aroma & flavor: Melodia presents itself in the glass in dark garnet red with ruby reflections. The bouquet is intense, complex and elegant, characterized by aromas of roasted almonds, piquant spices such as black pepper, dried plums and blackcurrants. Fine notes of bitter cocoa and pickled fruit round off the aroma profile. On the palate, the wine is dry, full-bodied and enveloping with a velvety texture and dense tannins. The long-lasting, fresh finish is accompanied by a light spiciness.
