Description
- Wine type: Red wines
- Producer: More than 2000 hectares of the best vineyards, three wine cellars and exports to over 50 countries worldwide: this is Bodegas Borsao from the Campo de Borja D.O.. Viticulture has existed in the region since the 12th century. The exceptional climate and the best influences of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic can be used here to the best advantage for the wines. The region is known as the "Kingdom of Garnacha", as the grape originated here before being exported to Europe during its expansion from the Kingdom of Aragon. Bodegas Borsao is passionately committed to high quality and value in everything it does - this was rewarded with the prestigious title of "Winery of the Year" by Wine Advocate almost 10 years ago.
- Region: The north-eastern Spanish region of Aragón encompasses the broad Ebro Valley and is dominated to the north by the Pyrenees, which supply the arid valley with water. Due to this location, the wines here have great potential. Small, excellent wineries with a pronounced focus on quality make Aragón, with its four DO zones of Cariñena, Calatayud, Campo de Borja and Somontano, increasingly interesting for wine lovers. Mainly red Garnacha and Tempranillo are grown here.
- Provenance: Aragon
- Sub-provenance: Campo De Borja
- Cork closure: Cork
- Varietal: Garnacha, Syrah
- Drinking temperature: 16 - 18°C
- Award: 90 James Suckling points
- Character: An intense bouquet of sour cherry, dried fruit and roasted notes enchants the nose with this deep, dark, persistent wine. On the palate, juicy tannins, a wonderful freshness and the strong fruit aromas, which are accompanied by smoky and spicy (pepper, cinnamon) aspects, are convincing. A wine with a soft, supple and harmonious body that you won't forget in a hurry.
