- Vinification: The Unplugged Cabernet Franc is one of Hannes Reeh's most recent single-varietal creations. Originally, it played a key role in various blends, but since 2015, thanks to its exceptional elegance and aromatic depth, it has stood on its own—and impresses across the board. In keeping with the Unplugged philosophy, this wine is also vinified without fining, filtration, or technical interventions. The grapes come from the hot vineyards around Andau and are selectively harvested by hand. After maceration, the wine matures in small oak barrels, where it develops structure, depth, and character.
- Food pairing: A versatile wine that pairs particularly well with hearty dishes: game, beef, lamb, braised mushrooms, or spicy hard cheeses. It's also a delight on its own for quiet evenings, offering depth in the glass. Ideal for anyone who appreciates full-bodied red wines with character and a bit of edge.
- Aroma & Taste: Dark ruby-garnet with violet highlights. On the nose, the Cabernet Franc is spicy and complex—with aromas of dark berries, tobacco, a hint of paprika, and subtle herbal notes. On the palate, it is dense and powerful, with ripe tannins, a juicy structure, and an elegant, long finish. Despite its richness, it never feels heavy—instead, it is wonderfully balanced and authentic.
