Description
- Country: Germany
- Region: Rheingau
- Vinification: The south-facing site has a deep, calcareous loess soil, which is locally influenced by groundwater and is gravelly. Due to the sheltered southern exposure, the soils are easily warmed and produce fruity wines that are very expressive and full-bodied. They generally only show their full potential after two to three years. The grapes are harvested from the end of September to mid-October. In order to achieve the fine fruit of the wine, an intensive negative selection of unsuitable grapes was carried out. The grapes were then gently pressed in the winery's press house.
- Culinary recommendation: Excellent with soft cheeses - from Camenbert and Brie to Tomme and mild Taleggio. Harmonizes perfectly with various blue cheeses - from Gorgonzola to Roquefort and Blue Stilton.
- Aroma & flavour: The wine opens with its very own characterful nose, reminiscent of Williams pear, honey and caramel. On the palate, the wine is long and fine with yellow fruit flavors and ends in a grapefruit-influenced, tart-sweet, refreshing finish.
